What is a DJ set flow?+
A flow is a planned sequence of tracks for a DJ set, ordered to create smooth transitions and a deliberate energy arc. Flow Builder lets you visualise the chemistry between each transition before you play, so you can design sets that take the dancefloor on a journey.
How does chemistry scoring work?+
Every adjacent pair of tracks is scored across six dimensions: harmonic compatibility (Camelot wheel key matching), rhythmic compatibility (BPM closeness), energy flow (smooth transitions vs jarring jumps), danceability (groove consistency), mood (valence matching), and vocal compatibility (avoiding clashes). These combine into a single chemistry score from 0 to 100.
How is this different from Rekordbox playlists?+
Rekordbox organises your library. Flow Builder plans your set. Where Rekordbox shows you individual track metadata, Flow Builder scores every transition between adjacent tracks, visualises your energy arc across the whole set, and suggests tracks that fit the gaps. It’s the difference between a filing system and a planning tool.
Can I use my own tracks?+
Flow Builder works with Mixgraph’s curated catalog of over 50,000 analysed tracks. If a track you need isn’t in the library, Pro subscribers can request tracks and we’ll add them within 24 hours.
